This Privacy Policy explains what information getxmatch.com ("getxmatch", "we", "us") collects, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. By creating an account or using the site you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. Age requirement

You must be 18 or older (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, if higher) to create an account. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that a user is under 18, we will terminate the account and delete the data.

2. Information we collect

Account information you provide at sign-up: username, email address, gender, age, general location, and interests, plus a hashed password (we never store your password in plain text).
Profile content you choose to add: profile photo, gallery images, bio, and other details you publish.
Activity you generate on the site: quiz results, ratings, comments, relationship and "been out together" indicators you and another user mutually confirm, and similar interactions.
Messages you send in chats. Chat messages are automatically and permanently deleted within one hour of being sent (see "Data retention").
Technical data your browser sends automatically: IP address, device and browser type, and pages visited, used for security and to keep the service running.
Cookies / session data needed to keep you logged in and to operate the site (see "Cookies").

We encourage users not to publish real-world identifying details (full name, phone number, home address, financial details). Anything you choose to make public on your profile can be seen by other users, and you share it at your own risk.

3. How we use your information

To create and operate your account and provide the site's features.
To match and suggest profiles based on shared interests.
To keep the platform safe: prevent fraud, abuse, and prohibited content, and enforce our Terms.
To communicate with you (for example, email verification codes and important notices).
To comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:

with service providers who host or operate the site on our behalf, under confidentiality obligations;
where required by law, court order, or a valid request from a competent authority;
to protect the rights, safety, and property of users, the public, or getxmatch;
in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to you.

Content you make public on your profile is, by its nature, visible to other users.

5. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in and to operate core features. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling essential cookies may prevent the site from working.

6. Data retention

Chat messages are deleted automatically within one hour of being sent; we do not retain conversation history beyond that window.
Account and profile data is kept while your account is active and deleted (or anonymised) after you delete your account, except where we must retain limited records to comply with law or resolve disputes.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures (including HTTPS encryption in transit and password hashing) to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You can edit most details from your profile settings, or contact us to make a request. We will respond in line with applicable law.

9. Children and prohibited content

We have zero tolerance for any content involving minors. Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and any sexualised content involving a minor is strictly prohibited, will be removed, and will be reported to the relevant authorities. See our Content Policy.

10. International users

The site may be operated from, and your information processed in, countries other than your own. By using the site you consent to such transfer and processing.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept them.
